Thomas Rufus Baynes, 46, formerly of Hayti, Missouri died October 4, 1973 in Pueblo, Colorado. He was born December 18, 1926 in Hayti, Missouri. He was the son of Mamie Baynes and the late John Wilburn Baynes.

Baynes was a truck driver, one sister Mamie Alice Daniel preceded him in death. Survivors include five sons, Larry Baynes of St. Louis, Missouri, Barry Baynes of Minersville, Pennsylvania, William Baynes of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Thomas and Everett Baynes of Wilmington, Delaware. His mother Mamie Baynes of Raleigh, North Carolina. Five sisters, Mrs. Ellen Crockrell, of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mrs. Lillian Fleming of Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Christine Pickens of Kennett, Missouri, Mrs. Earnesteen Archibald of St. Louis, Missouri and Mrs. Ruth Marshall of Lakeland, Florida. Four brothers John and James Baynes of St. Louis, Mo, David Baynes of Belle Garden, California, and Lloyd Baynes of Houston, Texas.

Funeral Services were held October 8th at 2:30 in the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bernal Wells of Hayti officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri.
